Elegance features a Yamaha C5 Grand Piano sampled to utmost realism using multiple microphone positions, including various Ambisonics microphones. The results are a beautiful rich-sounding piano with a quality never heard before.

Not only was Elegance recorded in three dimensions, but it was also mixed in our Dolby Atmos studio to be able to be delivered ready for any kind of production: Whether you work in Stereo, Dolby Atmos, VR, and even custom speaker arrays, Elegance comes ready with its rich and bright tone.

But not only Elegance features three-dimensional perspectives and mixes - we also worked on production-ready stereo mixes as well as delivered the RAW Stereo Microphone positions. Elegance contains a plethora of colours for you to find your own sound.

Elegance might be one of the most beautiful projects we’ve been involved in - we spent around 30 hours recording, manually, each and every note with up to 18 Velocities.

Normal Sustains, Una Corda Sustains, resonances, artefacts, keystrokes, muted hammers, pedal noises, Elegance is a true representation of how a Piano must sound and feel.

Finally, we also created Elegance to be compatible with Soft Pedals - so if you have a Soft Pedal (or a Pedal assigned to CC67), you can alternate between Una Corda and normal Sustains, whilst simultaneously enjoying the richness of its sound.

To make things even beefier, we also prepared 10 Sound Design articulations that you can layer with the original Piano in creative ways! All the Sound Design pads were created natively in Ambisonics, meaning they are 100% immersive!

Ambisonics Version

As pioneers of Immersive-Audio Sample Libraries, we focused on creating a sound library natively compatible with multi-speaker arrays. This means that no matter your speaker setup, you can dynamically adapt the sound to it and results will always translate with utmost quality. Be it Binaural (headphones), Stereo, Surround, Dolby Atmos, Ambix for VR applications, custom arrays, and even exporting to multiple channel-configurations at once, your mix will always be natural and real.

‘Bright’ Mix:

This Immersive Mix, to us, delivers the perfect-sounding Piano - rich, bright, production-ready.

‘Damp’ Mix:

This Immersive Mix features a darker sound, which works great when using Una Corda sustains to create an obscure colour. Perfect for softer, sadder harmonies.

Immersive Perspectives

‘Board’ Perspective:

The Board perspective transports you INTO the Soundboard of the Piano - you can feel the sound embracing you completely, with a lot of presence.

‘Ears’ Perspective:

A three-dimensional perspective at musician’s head-level. This is perfect for creating Binaural mixes, as you can feel the sound just as if you were sitting on the Piano bench.

‘Audience’ Perspective:

What if you weren’t playing but listening to your own private recital? This perspective was created to have you listen to the music just as if you were sitting in front of the piano.

Stereo Version

Our approach to sound also has a benefit to those who prefer to stick to Stereo. Thanks to our recording and mixing techniques, where we respect the microphone positions not only in a left to right fashion, but on a three-dimensional space, the resulting mix is a faithful representation of how sound behaves as it travels to your ears.

So for Stereo users, these mixes are also available for stereo production-ready projects, as well as the RAW microphone positions for those who want to customise their own sound.

Stereo Mixes

‘Bright’ Mix:

This Mix, to us, delivers the perfect-sounding Piano - rich, bright, production-ready.

This Mix is based on a binaural conversion from the immersive Ears perspective. Great for feeling the piano especially when using headphones.

‘Frame’

A Stereo pair of microphones to capture the sound that comes from the frame, because it’s closer to the action, it has more attack.

‘Board’ Mix

A Stereo pair of microphones to capture the sound that comes from the Soundboard. It is extremely rich in harmonics and clarity

‘Ears’ Mic Position

A Stereo pair of microphones placed by each of the musician’s ears.

Core Patches come in “Normal Sustains”, “Una Corda” and “Soft Pedal” mode.

“Soft Pedal” mode is compatible with Soft Pedals and MIDI CC67, meaning when the Pedal is pressed (or CC67 = 127), piano sounds in Una Corda.

Sound Design Patch comes with our Layered Engine.
